Sericipterus wucaiwanensis by jconway Sericipterus wucaiwanensis by jconway
Brian Andres asked me to do a painting of Sericipterus wucaiwanensis for his PhD thesis, and here it is; killing a puny and pathetically weak pterodactyloid.

And I thought I was the only one who was thinking of this idea- good to see that there are also other ones who had something like this in their mind :D

Hey John. Love your work. Any chance you might release this as a paid-for print for me?

This is really cool. Nobody ever draws pterosaurs hunting each other.

Very cool. Looks like quite a brawny thing for such a small pterosaur. Is it that "scaphognathid" with those allegedly elongate hindlimbs? The femur looks almost surreal from that perspective :)

Realistic shading and texturing, but outlining too. I really like it.
What inspires your pterosaur coloration and markings?

That is a frightening little sonofabitch and no mistake. Any chance of a skeletal reconstruction? :)

The one looks decidedly happy not to have been caught.

Maybe it's the Judas pterodactyloid.
