Herrerasaurus ischigualas... by jconway Herrerasaurus ischigualas... by jconway
... ischigualastensis. A specific name so long, it wouldn't fit in the title. Crazy! [link]

Do you think it's possible that even at this evolutionary point they were feathered? Because I'm beginning to imagine almost every theropod with feathers now. Noneless this is n exceptional piece (as all of your other ones):D (Big Grin)

The one scratching it's ear reminds me of my parrot when he does the same thing. ^^ I like the way it has this whole naturalist's sorta vibe...well done.

Very nice, I love the one cleaning it's hand. They each seem like they have a personality, which I like. ^^ Herrerasaurs were one of the early raptors...right? Or am I wrong?

It's not really a raptor (neither a deinonychosaurian nor a bird^^), but maybe an early ancestor of raptors (It's most likely a very early Theropod, which also makes it an ancestor of T-Rex, Allosaurus, pidgeons etc.)

On the other hand, there is a different theory that it is a very basal sauropodomorpha, making it a potential ancestor of Brachiosaurus, or not a true dinosaur at all!

I heard that it was a early Theropod form...but not a Brachiosaur. That's interesting.

Not a Brachiosaur per se, but an ancestor.

Also its just one theory out of many.

I really like how you drew a pair of them and showed them in different positions: it gives you a nice idea of what these animals would have been like
